On October 31st, we will celebrate Shabbat in the Park at the Big Creek picnic area, just inside the Smoky Mountain National Park. People can arrive all day, but we will plan for lunch between Noon and 1 p.m., and will be arriving at the park around 10:30 a.m. Please bring a kosher style covered dish, enough to share, which can include hotdogs, burgers and the appropriate picnic items that you/your family likes to eat. Remember, there is not electricity at this site, so crock pots might not be so great to bring. Also, bring cutlery and paper goods, as well as, cups and drinks for your family.
There is a great place to mikvah, splash and play right next to the picnic area, but given the time of year, it will be quite cool and that should be taken into consideration. Come ready to have some fun as we play, eat and midrash together. There will be time for us to have discussions and share while at the park. There are some great hiking trails in the immediate area, so keep that in mind when planning your trip.

Each Shabbat in the Park is different. The community experience is built by covenant members coming together to share their experiences of walking in Covenant. We look forward to seeing you there.
The following scriptures are found in Torah. They each explain the importance of observing Shabbat as the seventh day that YHVH set apart and made holy. It is the sign of the Covenant that we exhibit back to YHVH (and each other) aa He established this sign with us.
